Do not ever use Metropolitan movers ! My client had hired Metropolitan Movers of Toronto to move him from one house to another. He had an email from them confirming that they would be at his home at 1PM on August 31st 2016 and when they were late he called to see where they were. He was told the truck broke down with transmission problems and that they couldn't come until Saturday at 3PM ! There is no reason they couldn't have rented a truck and showed up and moved my client that day !! VERY unprofessional, DO NO USE THIS COMPANY !!

Booked Feb. 14/15, Picked up Feb. 18. Still hasn't made it to the destination and it's March 22nd! Booked for 2 movers. "One" showed up with a broken dolly. I had to go get my son up (he works nights) and my son helped him move the furniture till it was dusk. He left my furniture unattended in a public parking lot on hot tarmac. He showed up dirty, smelly, unshaven, didn't speak very good English. I called the Metropolitan Movers number that I booked on and was told to call another number. This phone tag went on for 3 hours. I asked for another mover and no one showed up. Every time I called they referred me to someone else. The last time I called I said I'm not calling anyone else. You deal with this problem and solve it. I had to be out of the condo the next day. No one called me back, no one emailed me, no one sent someone to deal with the nightmare mover they sent me. The mover told me as soon as he arrived he was tired that he just did a move before mine. He was in my home about 10 minutes and asked if I would go and get him something to eat and drink because he was hungry and thirsty & didn't have time to get breakfast or lunch. He dropped my large hutch on the ramp and it slid down the ramp scratching both sides. He didn't wrap the furniture and take it out. He took it out and wrapped it outside. After he got the truck loaded I asked him for the paper work. He handed me some sheets. I said it's going to Canada, is this all I need to fill out? He assured me that was it. He was from Canada and there wasn't going to be a problem with the border crossing. He said he had quite a few more pick ups and that it would be there in approx. 2 weeks. I called my mother 3 weeks later in Ontario (where the furniture was being shipped to) and asked her if she got the furniture. It had still not arrived! I called the number I was given 1-888-587-5687 they said it's out of their hands now and with an international mover in B.C. I called the number and they didn't know where it was. I had to pull up old emails to get information for them. They told me it was at the border and it should be there in a few days. A week goes by and still no furniture. It was in a warehouse for a couple of weeks in Toronto. Then my mother gets a call from them and asked why someone hadn't come down to the Canadian Customs to sign a release of the furniture. They told her they wouldn't deliver it because I didn't fill out the proper paper work for border crossing. She calls me, I call them and they said I would have to fly up to Canada!!! I said that wasn't an option as I work and live in Arizona now. I can't just jump on a plane to sign a paper and fly back. That I was told the paper work I signed at my house was all I needed to do. So he suggests my mother drive to Toronto. My mother is in her late 80's and doesn't drive. So after a lot of frustrating and not so pleasant phone calls they said i could send a notarized letter to Toronto to someone and they could deliver it to the customs office. Fine...I finally found someone in Toronto to do this. That was not enough. They now say my friend has to meet the truck driver when it's convenient for him (the truck driver) and go to the customs together. We have been calling them for the past few days. I was told if my furniture isn't picked up in a week it will be sent back to the U.S. Absolutely unprofessional company. The customer service it terrible. I would never recommend this company to anyone. It's caused us nothing but stress, time, phone calls, time off work and aggravation the past few weeks. We were told the furniture would be there within two weeks so my mom got rid of the furniture she had expecting this to arrive. Disgusted in them. Any company that claims they are professionals in long distance moving then puts you through this stress shouldn't be in business. I took pictures and video of my son working all morning and of the damage to my furniture. I specifically looked up a Canadian company as I'm a Canadian Citizen. Thought I was doing a good thing...boy was I wrong!! The phone tag was ridiculous and no one in the past month have replied to any of my emails. Don't use this company!! Very dissatisfied customer!!

Metropolitan Movers Canada review in Toronto, Ontario: Metropolitan Movers. WORST EVER!!!!!!

Metropolitan movers are SCAMMERS! They are unbelievably slow! Charged more time than they did and charged our credit card before they finished the work!!! who does that...only SCAMMERS! They want credit card information before they start the work. Spent 15 minutes both ways, before and after finishing the work, just for paperwork. When they charged more time, we asked them to work for the time and come and assist with finishing the work. They slammed the door on me and said 'go to ***'!!!! I called my credit card company and they told me the credit card was charged much earlier which means they had determined how much they were going to charge us beforehand!!!!

Metropolitan Movers Canada review in Toronto, Ontario: Metropolitan Movers - NO SHOW!

I booked with Metropolitan Movers for the 30th of August, 2011. I got a confirmation email and number. They never showed up and never gave us a decent explanation. Worse, they kept promising to call us back with details about their "truck" and never did. They kept putting us on hold and never came back to the phone. They were giving me fake phone numbers to call and talk to the "coordinator" of the move. The numbers were out of service. I kept calling and they started to hang up on me and telling me there was no booking under my name. AWFUL customer service. They don't really have moving personnel, they hire independent movers AFTER you book a date/time with them. They lied to me saying that they had a team left for the day I wanted. ALL LIES!!! Never use this company.

I so relate to this!!...wondering what to do about the credit card issue. They've caused the damage of what the they were going to charge me.

It's a wash. I'm sure they'll charge it even though I've requested a full refund. I can't believe they operate like this and get away with it.

Unbelievable, unprofessional, nightmare customer service. Ugh!!

They were unprofessional and Did not honor the Appointment. We were booked for 2:00pm and after we confirmed the appointment 24 hours prior they called to say they were running late and would be at least an hour behind(3:00pm) We let then know that they needed to be there as we had to be out at 5:00pm.

At 3:23 when the truck was still not there I called and was put on Hold saying that they were checking on ETA. At 4:36 over an hour later they disconnected the line that I was holding on. Then received a call 10min or so later form there customer service saying that they needed to cancel because they did not have a truck for us.

We then were sent an email stating that we canceled the appointment at 4:57pm. left with no truck and no mover we had to move ourselves with our cars and two cube vans form U-haul

Yes, they told us they would be at our home in the morning. It was after 3 before he showed up.

Only one man came with a broken dolly. We were still moving things in the dark. We played phone tag for hours on moving day. I told them I wanted another mover that the small man they sent could not carry my large pieces.

They said for me to call a staffing place and bill them. I said I booked 2 movers threw you...you call and get me another. No one came, no one called back like they said, no one returned my emails. The one guy was darn right ignorant the way he spoke to me.

I asked to speak to a manager. He said he wasn't there and to call him my self and he gave me his cell phone number. I told him I'm standing out watching this guy so that they better call the manager and solve the problem. They did nothing.

No one called me back that day. The whole day was a disaster !!

Exactly the same thing happened to me on June 30th 2012. They did not appear.

When I called, the operator left me on hild fir half an hour and finally said the moving coordinator was in a meeting and they would call me back. But as expected, they never did!

THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST CONSTUMER SERVICE COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. THEY PROMISE THE WORLD, BUT DON'T DELIVER.

THEY SAID THAT THEY HAVE INSURANCE, BUT WHEN THEY LOST PART OF OUR DELIVERY AND BROKE OUR CHINA, SUDDENLY THEY WERE UNAVAILABE. WE SENT PHOTOS, CONTACTED BY EMAIL AND PHONE, BUT ALL THEY DID WAS PUT US OFF.

WE ARE LOOKING AT SUEING THEM NOW. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY OR ANY AFFILIATE OF THIS COMPANY.
